Micaela Calabresi on a mission to Green Geek

Tuesday, May 10th, 2011

Even when we told you about Green Geek and their project to disseminate the wi-fi networks in the Italian territory. We currently have an interview with Micaela Calabresi tells us about his collaboration in this initiative.

Micaela, Tell us about the project and your role within essthe.

I promise I'll try to be brief :)

First things first: about a year ago, in dell'Ortica district in Milan, were born Green Geek, which is constantly, among other things, for free information and access to the network. For me, meeting with the boys dell'Ortica, has been a real lightning. I returned to Italy years ago with the desire to do something for this country and now, finally, thanks to them, I know I made the right choice.

But back to the project: during the 150 anniversary of the unification of Italy the Green Geek, in collaboration with Wired and Peugeot, launched the initiative "150 antennas 150 common”; the first 150 municipalities that have joined the project are receiving antenna wi-fi to allow citizens to connect to the Internet for free and in complete safety to one hour per day. Once you have registered, you can connect automatically to all hot spot gwi-fi scattered around Italy. To date there are already app "Alarm Italy"Android and iPhone that allow you to locate the nearest antenna and signal the activation of new hot spot.

This ambitious project was shared, so, we decided to organize a report, a real tour of Italy, making a stop for the region to tell Italy that wakes.

We present the crew?

That's it! We 3: c'è Margot, Our mascot high as antennas that we are in the municipalities, Rafael c'è (Meira handle ndr), Brazilian transplant but for many years in Milan, that will be shooting video throughout the trip and, to finish, The undersigned, that will be tasked to accompany the video of Rafael stories in a blog devoted to the project.

We share a route so that our readers can come to assist? :)

Soon you will find an online map with details of actual events (time and exact address), Meanwhile, here's the list of cities we're going to visit:

we leave the 2 June from Cervinia (Valle d'Aosta), then we will be in Turin (Piedmont), Pietra Ligure (Liguria), Cagliari (Sardinia), Arezzo (Tuscany), Perugia (Umbria), San Giovanni in Tuscia (Lazio), Montecorvino Pugliano (Campaign), Scalea (Calabria), Catania (Sicily), Latronico (Basilicata), Bari (Puglia), Santa Croce di Magliano (Molise), Palena (Abruzzo), Mogliano (walking), Bologna (Emilia Romagna), Montegrotto (Veneto), Udine (Friuli), Rovereto (Trentino) and 23 June arrives in Milan!

We will also stage two "extra" in Genoa, to meet "digital citizens"Aquila and to ensure that the antennas that we have brought the 6 April this year to be fully functional and healthy our friends Abruzzo.

His Facebook i Green Geek are already posting to the list of events "Geek in trip”, then, stay tuned ;)

What do you think you need to tackle a challenge like that?

The things I need I have already: a fantastic team that is organizing the whole, a Director, Although resigning, strongly believed in this project and allowed us to realize (Richard Moon, Director of Wired editor's note), a friend and colleague with whom I have shared more of a challenge and a mascot of a certain level ... and a good height!

What I hope to find is, before anything else, l’entusiasmo. We dream of being able to engage and enthuse all the Italians who meet. I wish that this trip really unite Italy, not only in a symbolic way. I would like the freedom of information and access to the network and desire to become the heritage of all. I am convinced that Italy could be devas and "wake up". I am an incurable optimist! :)

What should a woman do to seize an opportunity similar to yours?

Work hard for what he believes. Not for money, passion for. Wanting to be free to decide their lives. Learn to say no and the, counter, never be afraid to embark on an adventure. But this is particularly true for women as for men.

Why does a woman go around planting of satellite wi-fi?

Because the antennas are the wi-fi access to information, that each of us can build his personal vision of the world; the freedom of information, can be, is one of the pillars of democracy.

Why wi-fi antennas allow us to share with the rest of the world in real time what works and what does not work in the city and country where we live.

And then, let's face it, the network cable is uncomfortable ;)

If I were a man would have been much easier?

In. I see no difference. The world of "geeks" - and you are a prime example - has neither time nor desire to worry about stupid discrimination.

How is this new commitment to work Margot?

Before giving the floor to Margot, I would like to report a comment signed Green Geek to a post appeared yesterday on Facebook:

Us Military, that, Green Geek and each receives a mission, and is responsible from start to finish: We are adamant on this! For this reason, when Margot Calabrese sent by e-mail saying that his candidacy is carried Micaela Calabresi and Rafael Handle we have given the whole, moreover, who better than she could take care of the two hotheads that accompany?! ;-)

Second, Margin, it's your turn.

How do I live this new commitment to work? What can I say ... it's an honor to manage this important project and, it was not for the company, everything would be perfect. So, Micaela and if Rafael I will put a spoke in the wheel, will be a success!

About, Michi forgot to tell you something important: we need your help to find by region, City by city, the best places to eat during the tour ... because I refuse to eat dog food treacherous, be clear!

See you soon!

Book review: Rossella Rasulo, “Do you want to live”

Monday, July 19th, 2010

As promised here is the first interview!

You certainly heard about Rossella Rasulo, known as online ±: Bloggers and Mom, has just published his novel with Mondadori. He agreed to answer our questions via e-mail, given the distance that separates us, and of course… we left to burst!

- why ninna?
E’ the nickname that I had to medium-sized, chosen jointly with my best friend.
It has been 20 years and I still bring him back. Immortalized in the blog, perhaps it was not a brilliant move for him to forget those who know me.

- tell us about your book?
E’ a book that recounts the first time, designed as a lifestyle choice. I would not say anything about its plot, not to reveal the various plots, but it is a book in which the feelings and emotions will follow each other almost non-stop. It is a book in which friendship and love collide.

- Mom and blogger – how did your blog?
My blog is born 2004 in a time when I wanted to change everything. I was a twenty-four as many, enrolled at the University, trying to figure out what to do with his life. Write me at the time seemed the best way to get out and to understand me.
After six years, during which came the love, family and new perspectives, I can say I changed all thanks to the blog.

- The legacy you leave to your daughter on the net?
L’esperienza, only this. I do not know how the network and what will be there when my daughter starts to use it. I can only advise the best way.

- where a mom finds time to write?
A mother finds time to write between the various commitments, like all. We use the spare time, there are other solutions.

- as the blog has changed your life?
He changed before making me know my husband and then giving me the chance to experience the madness that others call “write a book”

- Tell us about your experience in
E’ was a great challenge to accept the proposal of writing a novel. I never believe in my abilities but urged people to which they will have followed the instinct, the same year that leads me to write every day and I tried to tell a story frank and honest, a story that I hope will lead to reflection.,

- QueenBee who is she and what's in Ross?
Queen Bee is uncomfortable that side of us that do not show the world not to have problems. The blog uses the protagonist Queen Bee to let off steam on his misfortunes, without any harm to stay.
Queen Bee of me has nothing if not the style that I used to write when I opened the blog. I must say that throwing down his post was very funny. Complain about men and their defects is always liberating. I suppose they do the same with us.

- how to tell a woman on the net?
E’ un’arma a doppio taglio, as is generally exposed. E’ a declaration of emancipation and a sentence at the same time, even if the needle for me hanging on the side of what you earn a bit daring’ more.

- recommend to other moms to start a blog?
Depends. If they do it just to be talking about their mothers, then no. For my personal experience a mother should not only easily identifiable with that role. Maybe advise them to start a blog to focus more on the rest.

Thanks Ross!
For those wishing to novel taste, a this address the first chapter.

Until next time :)
